DNC Statement on the 24th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks
September 11, 2025
DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement on the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001:
“Today, we come together as a nation to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11th and to reaffirm that they will never be forgotten. Our nation was changed forever due to a horrendous act of terror, and this day is forever etched into the memories of every American.
“We stand with the friends and families and first responders still dealing with unimaginable grief, and pay tribute to the heroes on Flight 93, at Ground Zero, and at the Pentagon. In the face of horrific violence, their courage, empathy, and selflessness toward strangers serve as a reminder of what it means to be an American.
“Out of this tragedy, Americans joined together in a shared sense of resilience. Attacks on our nation will not break us, nor strip us of our values, our freedom, our great nation, or our ability to live out the American dream.
“As we honor the legacies of those lost on September 11, we promise to remember their lives and bravery so many displayed when faced with evil. We will never forget.”
