Donald Trump is apparently demanding his Justice Department pay him $230 million in taxpayer funds following federal investigations into his alleged criminal activity. Meanwhile, Trump still refuses to reopen the government and extend enhanced ACA tax credits, skyrocketing health care premiums for 22 million Americans. 

Trump is demanding $230 million in legal damages, $40 billion for Argentina, $250 million for his White House ballroom, and $172 million for Kristi Noem’s two private jets. Meanwhile, Trump won’t spend a penny to lower health care premiums. 

This is just the latest example of Trump abusing his power for his own enrichment. He’s made it crystal clear that he doesn’t work for Americans. Trump’s loyalties only lie with himself and his billionaire buddies. 

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement: 

“Donald Trump won’t help Americans, but he’ll sure help himself. In less than a year, he’s turned the taxpayer into his personal piggy bank. While he refuses to extend tax credits to prevent massive health care cost increases for 22 million Americans, he’s trying to get the government to pay him $230 million in legal damages using taxpayer dollars. Trump is doing everything except helping working and middle-class families from being crushed by high prices.”
