Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and Republican state lawmakers just started a special session to support Donald Trump’s gerrymandering power grab scheme and attack Missourians’ rights. 

Donald Trump and his Republican lapdogs are on a mission to silence the voice of Americans nationwide to save their flailing majority in the midterms. The DNC is all in to support the Missouri Democrats fighting for our democracy and hold Republicans accountable for this undemocratic power grab.

In response to the Missouri General Assembly beginning its special session to pass Republicans’ gerrymandered map, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement: 

“Missouri Republicans are showing the nation that they will answer to Donald Trump’s beck and call — even if it directly undermines the will of Missourians. After ripping away health care and food from hardworking families to enrich billionaires, while also raising energy bills and destroying jobs, Republicans know they’re going to be kicked to the curb. Republicans are orchestrating a cheating scandal the likes of which we’ve never seen all because voters don’t like them anymore. But Democrats refuse to be the only party that plays by the rules. We will not stand idle while Republicans rig the game. Democrats will continue to stand with Missourians on the front lines of the fight to protect voting rights and hold Republicans accountable.”
