California Democrats are standing up against Trump’s attempts to rig the maps

Today, Donald Trump pledged that his Administration would file a lawsuit against Proposition 50 to prevent California voters from protecting our democracy by choosing their own elected officials. 

Proposition 50, the “Election Rigging Response Act,” will be on the ballot this November so that California voters can fight back against Donald Trump’s attempts to rig the maps.

In response to Donald Trump’s threats, DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump knows that he is going to lose in the midterms. That’s why he’s pulling out all the stops to try to prevent Americans from choosing their own elected officials. First, he rigged the Texas maps. Now, as California responds in kind, he’s trying to prevent California voters from having a choice. This is a pattern with Trump — he’ll pull out all of the stops to try to cheat his way into power, and he’s doing it again because he knows his toxic budget bill is an albatross around his party’s neck. It won’t work. The DNC stands ready to defend democracy in California and across the country. Voters decide their elected officials and which party controls the House, not Donald Trump.”
