Snowflake Trump Does Poster Board Presentation To Justify Firing of BLS Commissioner After Disastrous Job Numbers

Donald Trump is so embarrassed about his disastrous jobs numbers that he put on a bizarre poster board presentation with unverified numbers to attempt to justify his firing of the Commissioner of Labor Statistics. Instead of doing the real work to grow the job market, Trump is trying to cook the books to gaslight the American people — and this time, he brought in Project 2025 author Stephen Moore to present data that “no one else” has.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Trump’s latest job report was so awful that he’s trying to cook the books. Apparently, firing the BLS Commissioner wasn’t enough — now he’s doing poster board presentations from the Oval Office to try and spin his trainwreck of an economy using unverified, exclusive data. While Trump hyperfixates on justifying his awful jobs report, costs are rising,  and layoffs are skyrocketing. The American people aren’t going to fall for his stunts.”

Today, Trump continued his campaign to spin his disastrous jobs report, but we have the receipts:

  • May, June, and July were the WEAKEST three months of job growth since the pandemic — and before that, since 2010 and the Great Recession
  • Manufacturing employment has fallen by 28,000 since Trump took office.
  • The July jobs report was a trainwreck itself, adding just 73,000 jobs.
  • In response to the horrible jobs numbers, the stock market saw one of its worst days in months.

This comes after Trump’s economy saw the biggest six-month jump in prices for durable goods since 1987, annual inflation ticked up to 2.6%, and layoffs jumped 140% from last year. To make matters worse, Trump’s disastrous, billionaire-first budget will cost millions of jobs while his reckless trade war will skyrocket inflation. It’s no surprise that only one-quarter of U.S. adults say that Trump’s policies have helped them since he took office.
