ICYMI: As Americans Receive Premium Hike Notices in the Mail, DNC Puts House GOP on Blast in New Ad Campaign
October 14, 2025
This month, families across the country will start receiving notices from their health insurance providers that their premiums could double next year as a result of Trump and Republicans’ refusal to extend cost-saving ACA tax credits. Families are already struggling to afford the basics as prices and unemployment rise — they cannot afford to pay double for their health insurance.
Democrats aren’t sitting idly by. That’s why, last week, the DNC launched new digital ads and an organizing campaign targeting vulnerable House Republicans across Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and Michigan. The campaign also includes billboards and bus shelter ads near local hospitals and clinics in these districts.
Take a look at some of the coverage below:

“The DNC is also tapping into its organizing team for a voter education campaign to reach out to infrequent voters through text messages.
“‘Democrats are holding the line,’ the on-camera narrator says in a video ad. ‘They’re refusing to vote for Republicans’ twisted funding bill, because the lives and well-being of millions of Americans are at stake.’”

[Jameson Cook, 10/14/2025]
“The Democratic National Committee has initiated a media blitz that targets Republican U.S. Rep. John James for his and his party’s opposition to extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits, an issue at the core of the federal government shutdown.
“The DNC is focusing the ad campaign on James, who represents most of Macomb County and part of Oakland in the 10th District, and fellow Michigan GOP U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett, who represents the seventh district in the west side of Southeast Michigan, along with seven other GOP members of Congress, DNC officials said. In addition, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is taking aim at 28 additional members of Congress, officials said. …
