Trump: “I Don’t Want To Hear About The Affordability”

Trump Administration Skips October Jobs Report while U.S. Climbs to Near-Record Layoffs in 2025
Today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ October job report should have been released. Yet the Trump administration has chosen to skip the monthly reports during Donald Trump’s government shutdown, hamstringing economists and business leaders, and conveniently obscuring the grim reality of the worsening job market from the American people. But no matter how hard the administration tries, Americans are feeling the pinch of high prices and job cuts directly, and hiding jobs data will not obscure the president’s poor economic record.
The American people know Trump doesn’t care about them. Last night, Trump declared, “I don’t want to hear about the affordability” — once again reminding working families that he couldn’t care less about the out-of-control prices that are making their lives harder. While Trump builds his billionaire-funded golden ballroom and throws lavish parties at Mar-a-Lago, working families are grappling with layoffs, inflation, and soaring costs.
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“Americans are staring down the reality of a holiday season marred by inflation, higher prices, and rising unemployment caused by Donald Trump’s chaotic economic policies. Trump says he doesn’t want to hear about affordability — but the American people do, and they’re pissed off. Working families know they have been sold out by Trump and Republicans in order to rig the system for billionaires. Democratic candidates across the country were victorious on Election Day because Democrats met Americans at their kitchen table, fighting to lower costs like groceries, rent, and electric bills, while Trump is leading the country into his gilded recession.”
