ICYMI: Jack Ciattarelli Takes Donations From Real Estate Moguls At Center of New Jersey’s Rent Crisis
September 29, 2025

Last week, as Mikie Sherrill continues to center her campaign on making New Jersey more affordable, including declaring a “state of emergency” on day one to end the utility rate hikes and lower energy costs, new reporting showed that her opponent, Jack Ciattarelli, is cozying up to the shady landlords of New Jersey engaged in illegal practices to raise rent prices.
Jack Ciattarelli took almost a million dollars from one of New Jersey’s largest landlords, the Kurtz family, who own the Kamson Corporation. This is the same company that is at the center of a major federal lawsuit, which alleges that Kamson illegally colluded with a software firm to raise New Jerseyans’ rents.
After surreptitiously seeking records of Mikie Sherrill’s military service from the Trump administration, now, Jack Ciattarelli is continuing to get into bed with large corporations trying to cheat New Jerseyans to raise their prices.
New Jerseyans deserve someone who is fighting to lower their costs and is not beholden to corporate landlords — and that champion is Mikie Sherrill.
In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman released the following statement:
“Jack Ciattarelli and Donald Trump share a lot in common, including their loyalty to corporate landlords who are ripping off hard-working New Jerseyans and shamefully seeking illegal records to denigrate the men and women who serve our country in the military. New Jersey families deserve someone who is fighting to lower their costs and isn’t beholden to billionaires. That’s why the DNC is all hands on deck to make sure Mikie Sherrill wins in November. She will lower costs on Day One.”
