NEW POLLING: 75% of Americans, Including Majority of Republicans, Believe Country is on the Wrong Track Thanks to Donald Trump

New polling from the Associated Press today showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans — 75% — believe the country is on the wrong track, including a majority of Republicans, and over 60% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump’s handling of the economy. Another warning sign for the president: 1 in 3 of his own supporters disapprove of his trade negotiations with other countries.

Despite the White House’s claims last week that the economy is “back on track,” working families are seeing right through Trump’s billionaire-first economic agenda — and they’re not having it.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s catastrophic economic policies are catching up to him, and it’s no wonder Americans are pissed. Trump promised that he would ‘end inflation’ on ‘Day One,’ but instead, everyday necessities are more expensive, jobs are harder to find, and real wages are down. Just this week, Trump said that he would ‘rather not talk about some nonsense on the economy.’ Now, he’s intent on shutting down the government and raising health care costs for millions of Americans. Make no mistake: Trump cares more about tax breaks for his billionaire friends than making life affordable for working families.”

Americans have had enough of Trump’s disastrous economy — and for good reason. His reckless economic policies have caused prices and the cost of living to skyrocket and slowed the job market to a crawl. While working families struggle to make ends meet, Trump is continuing his crusade to strip health care from millions of people so he can keep lining the pockets of his billionaire buddies and donors.
